Alex is a seasoned financial executive, entrepreneur, investor and thought leader. He is the CEO of Northwest Passage Ventures, an advisory firm and consultancy.  Alex is a founding member of the International Monetary Fund’s special advisory group on fintech and the World Economic Forum’s Global Futures Council on Blockchain.

He also sits on the advisory board of Elections Canada, the independent non-partisan agency responsible for conducting federal elections and referendums in Canada. Alex is the co-author of the international bestselling book Blockchain Revolution. Previously, Alex was an executive at the investment bank Canaccord Genuity. Alex is a graduate of Amherst College (cum laude) and is a CFA Charterholder.
